Doing what is right because it is the right thing to do describes honor. Beginning with the story of Daniel and the Lions' Den and how Daniel walked in honor before God, this book goes into great detail for children ages 10 and up about the subject of honor and what God's Word says about living in honor. How do children know what is the right thing to do? They are taught to go to God's Word for the answers. Children are taught how to react to authority. They learn about character, foolishness, the importance of keeping their word, the danger of the occult, how dishonorable vandalism is, and how they can walk in honor in every area of their lives. Each chapter contains review questions at the end.

Comments About Book

  • Each chapter is a splendid lesson in its own right.
  • The tone is conversational (lots of questions as if the reader is sitting right there) and the approach didactic. It is definitely a teacher introducing a topic, asking questions to draw attention and interest, using Biblical and personal illustrations to drive home each point and leading the reader to make a commitment to God in each area of discussion. In short, it is a sermon, but presented on a level that can be understood by a wide range of ages.
  • It is a book children will enjoy as study within a group setting where various points can be discussed openly.
  • It contains knowledge they desperately need and aren't hearing elsewhere.
  • It reinforces truths that adults have already presented to them which they need to hear through another voice. Some children have heard bits and pieces of these truths, but others have heard almost none of them. This book fills in the gaps. It will also teach some things to the adults who use the book as a teaching tool.
  • When you finish reading it, you definitely know exactly what you've been told. Therefore, this books delivers its message clearly, which after all is the point of a teaching narrative.
  • The personal illustrations give it sparkle and life.
